Each year the AGM enables RHS members to find out what has been achieved over the past year and to have a say in future developments

About the RHS Annual General Meeting

The 2026 RHS Annual General Meeting will be held in the RHS Lindley Hall, London on Wednesday 1 July 2026 at 6pm, all RHS Members welcome. Further details on attending the AGM and information on pre-bookable tours will be available in spring 2026. Ahead of the meeting, Members can submit an official resolution (see below).

The Notice of the AGM will be published online at least 21 days before the meeting and will outline all formal business, including the election of the RHS President, Treasurer and members of RHS Council. Details of the candidates standing, along with their statements, will be included in the Notice and available online.

RHS Member resolutions

Any member wishing to propose a resolution for the 2026 AGM must submit a written notice to The Secretary (secretary@rhs.org.uk) by 1 March 2026. The notice must include the full wording of the resolution and may be accompanied by a signed supporting statement from the proposer. It must also carry the signatures of at least 24 other RHS Members of 12 months’ standing, one of whom must be designated as the seconder. Find out more >

The RHS Governance and People Committee leads the annual election process to the RHS Council. The Committee reviews the applications of all nominees who apply to stand with the support of the RHS Council and interviews a shortlist of candidates. Following a skills audit of current trustees, the Committee considers the skills and experience required and makes recommendations for selected candidates for election to the RHS Council.
