Improving brand recognition
As market leader, Marshalls has led the hard landscaping industry in terms of sustainability and ethical trading practices. In order to improve brand recognition further, Marshalls announced the sponsorship of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for a period of three years commencing in 2007.
This sponsorship deal is a very important part of Marshalls’ strategy to improve further brand awareness. By sponsoring the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for three years, Marshalls is also helping the UK’s leading gardening charity to fund work to help gardeners and advance horticulture through its gardens, events, education programmes and scientific research.
Sponsorship of the Shows has strengthened Marshalls’ position as a market leader within the gardening sector. Marshalls was, in fact, the first landscaping company to sponsor Chelsea and through this partnership, it could further raise the profile of its own sustainability campaign and commitment to corporate responsibility.
Excellent return on investment
Though there was the inevitable challenge of ensuring excellent return on investment from sponsorship spend, during the sponsorship:
- Marshalls further increased its share of the hard landscaping market.
- Marshalls’ sustainability programme gained national recognition.
- Marshalls successfully launched its Garden Design Services to critical acclaim.
- Investment in the RHS furthered Marshalls’ proud commitment to social responsibility.
