The smaller garden libraries hold collections of key horticultural works and the best modern books on practical gardening, plants, garden design and garden history. Collections range from 4,000 volumes (RHS Garden Harlow Carr) to 1,500 volumes (RHS Garden Rosemoor).

Garden libraries subscribe to selected current gardening journals, and keep current and a limited selection of older RHS journals.
