The RHS is the UK's leading gardening charity dedicated to advancing horticulture and promoting gardening.
To meet these goals we’re always looking to:
- Improve our gardens with new planting and features, such as the iconic glasshouse at Wisley and Robinson Garden at Hyde Hall.
- Carry out research to advance and push the boundaries in gardening practices and knowledge for all.
- Set up new educational programmes and facilities to benefit and inspire all levels of gardeners, plus a new generation of young gardeners.
We receive no government funding, so to achieve our plans we need your help so that we can grow, preserve, protect and educate.
Current appeals
Chelsea centenary appeal
To coincide with the celebrations surrounding 100 years of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show at the Royal Hospital, we have launched The RHS Chelsea Centenary Appeal. A target of £1 million has been set to support our aim to involve, educate and inspire millions more gardeners throughout the country.

Early warning to combat pests and diseases
As a gardener you want to enjoy the fruits, vegetables and flowers of your labour without losing them to pests and diseases. We need your help to build a new John MacLeod field research facility, allowing us to expand our vital research and provide the best possible advice to gardeners.

Introducing children to the world of gardening
We want to help as many schools as possible to create their own ‘living classrooms’. Here children can learn how to grow plants, investigate wildlife, learn about the environment and even discover where the fruit and vegetables they eat really come from.

Turning back the clock of time
The Wild Wood Appeal has raised funds towards woodland planting at Hyde Hall where we’re returning a native woodland to the Essex countryside.
