Through our gardens at Harlow Carr in North Yorkshire, Hyde Hall in Essex, Rosemoor in Devon and Wisley in Surrey, the RHS helps gardeners across the UK by providing access to diverse plant collections, examples of innovative and attractive planting design and good horticultural practices.
The gardens also hold plant trials to judge the performance of plants – those that are considered to perform well then receive the RHS Award of Garden Merit to help gardeners identify plants that will thrive in most garden situations.
The gardens are also significant visitor attractions with nearly 1.3 million visitors in 2008 and the potential for many more. They all hold regular talks, demonstrations and walks and are the homes to fantastic plant centres and shops.
