Management of the Society
The day-to-day running of the Society is delegated to the Executive Directors and other staff. However, Council retains ultimate responsibility for the actions of staff. The Directors and staff must operate within the scope of the powers delegated to them.

Each Director has a number of departments under his or her control responsible for the Society’s operational activities and implementing the annual work programme agreed by Council.

At the 31 January 2010, the Society employed 502 full-time and 122 part-time staff.

The RHS website is maintained by RHS staff, with contributions by many leading horticultural writers.
