AGM Certificate

AWARD OF GARDEN MERIT (AGM)

Re-instituted 1992. Given on the recommendation of the Committees to plants of outstanding excellence for garden decoration or use (whether for the open garden or under glass). The award may only be given following a period of assessment.

FIRST CLASS CERTIFICATE (FCC)

Instituted 1859. Given on the recommendation of the Committees to plants of outstanding excellence for exhibition.

Award of Merit Certificate

AWARD OF MERIT (AM)

Instituted 1888. Given on the recommendation of the Committees to plants which are of great merit for exhibition.

Certificate of Preliminary Commendation

CERTIFICATE OF PRELIMINARY COMMENDATION (PC)

Instituted 1931. Given on the recommendation of the Committees to a new plant of promise for exhibition.

Botanical Certificate

BOTANICAL CERTIFICATE

Instituted 1878. Given on the recommendation of the Committees to plants of exceptional botanical interest.

Certificate of Cultural Commendation

CERTIFICATE OF CULTURAL COMMENDATION

Instituted 1872. Given on the recommendation of the Committees to growers whose exhibits show evidence of great cultural skill.

Certificate of Appreciation

CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION

Instituted in 1908. Given on the recommendation of the Committees for exhibits of scientific or educational horticultural interest.
