RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park

Please note that this is an outdoor, open ground, temporary site with temporary facilities.
Trackway runs through and around the show site providing a metal surface for wheelchair users. However, some stands are not served by trackway and you may wish to use the grassed avenues to reach them.

Parking

Designated parking areas are available for vehicles displaying a blue or orange badge; these are in the forward areas of the public car parks. Visitors should follow the traffic signage to the event and thereafter every effort will be made to direct you to the nearest disabled parking space.

Depending on where you are parked there will be a short walk (approximately 10 minutes) to the nearest show entrance. There are two accessible minibuses suitable for wheelchair access operating between the Red Car Park (furthermost from the show) and the West Entrance, as well as shuttle buses operating from the Knutsford Gate to the Showground and back.

Wheelchairs

To book a wheelchair, call 0845 260 7000. Bookings close on 18 July 2008. 40 manual wheelchairs and 65 electric scooters are available to pre-book.

Electric scooters can be reserved if supported by a donation of £17 which will go to Event Mobility Charitable Trust who provide and administer the wheelchairs; please note this is not refundable. If available on the day electric scooters can be borrowed subject to a donation of £17 to Event Mobility Charitable Trust.

Manual wheelchairs can also be reserved and the required £10 deposit can be returned shortly after the event if requested. If you are happy with the service provided you may wish to donate your deposit to Event Mobility Charitable Trust to help support their work.

Some wheelchairs may be available on the day, but unfortunately this cannot be guaranteed. If you borrow a manual wheelchair at the show a £10 deposit will be required. When you return the chair the deposit can be returned but any donations made to Event Mobility will be gratefully received.

Toilets

There are three large blocks of toilets distributed evenly throughout the showground and each has a disabled facility. Also in Tatton Park stableyard.

Carers Attendants cannot be provided, but one companion is admitted free of charge per wheelchair user, visually impaired visitor or other person whose disability necessitates a carer.

Assistance Dogs Welcomed in all areas.

Access to buildings All buildings and marquees accessible via ramps where not sited directly on grass. Food Courts are in the open with only limited shade.

Access to gardens All gardens can be viewed from ground level, although few are designed for public access. Where there is public access, exhibitors are reminded to design with disabled people in mind. Exhibits are sited on grassed areas and it may be necessary to leave the metal trackway to view.
