In a large bowl put the flour and break in the egg, then add half the water and stir together. Keep adding the rest of the water until the mixture comes together to make a dough

It is best to use a pyrex flan dish (because it is the easiest thing to make the shape in). Grease the dish with a little oil. Cover your hands in flour and then put the ball of dough in the middle of the dish. Flatten the dough out to the sides with the palm of your hand. This is squishy and fun but also makes a good thick and crispy base and means you don’t have to transfer it from the counter.

Spread the tomato puree over the base.
-
Slice the tomatoes and other vegetables and arrange on the pizza base. You can add pieces of ham or keep it vegetables only.
-
Grate the cheese and sprinkle all over the pizza. It is important the cheese goes on last because it is the background for the spider’s web.
-
Please ask a parent to cook the pizza for 20 minutes on the top shelf of the oven at 200°c/ Gas mark 6. When cooked, ask a parent to remove from the oven and leave to cool for five minutes.
-
While the pizza is cooling, mix the ketchup with half a teaspoon of green food colouring. It will look like a dark brownish green.
-
Ask an adult to help you make a greaseproof paper icing bag by rolling the greaseproof into a cone. This can be stuck down with a piece of sellotape. Even if you make it a really tight roll there will still be a small hole at the end. Fill the bag with the coloured ketchup.

Use the ketchup like icing to decorate the top of the pizza with stripes like a spiders web and an additional spider if you are feeling artistic. You could add a small plastic spider for effect but remember this bit isn’t edible!
