This RHS book is packed with quick and easy activities for children to do in the garden
Plant some wallflower plug plants in the garden for some spring colour. Wallflowers come in a range of colours – choose from yellows, oranges, reds, purples and white.
Wallflowers like to grow in well-drained soil in lots of sun.
Wallflower seeds can be sown in the spring but wallflower plug plants (baby plants) can be planted in the garden in November.
Choose a sunny place at the front of your flower bed and clear the space of weeds.
Dig a hole for each plug plant so that the base of the stem of the plant is level with the surface of the soil.
Fill the soil in around the plant and firm in. Leave spaces of 20cm (8in) between the plants and water well.
Get the kids out helping in the garden. Here's some jobs they can help with.
Can plants be stinky, yukky or posh? You bet, and we've got them all here!
