Coke Trust Awards are granted to professional gardeners and students to help further their horticultural training.
Aim
The Coke Trust Award was established to enable professional gardeners and students to further their gardening skills and experience. It can be used to assist individuals, institutions, charities and gardens open to the public in clearly defined horticultural projects, which have a distinct educational, research or historical value.
The largest of the bursary funds, the Coke Trust was established in 1985 by Mr Gerald and Mrs Patricia Coke in connection with the management of Jenkyn Place Gardens in Hampshire. Following their death and sale of the property, the aims of the trust fund were altered for the wider benefit of horticulture. At the request of the trustees, the fund management was transferred to the Royal Horticultural Society in January 1999.
