RHS Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Horticulture
36 Tuesdays: 9.30am-3.30pm
Start date: 11 September
Course fee: £540 plus examination fees £84
This one year modular course is suitable for the keen amateur or professional. It is an excellent introduction to a wide range of horticultural topics, ranging from understanding plant propagation to the production of outdoor vegetables and fruit. The course is assessed at the end by written exams.
RHS Level 2 Certificate in Practical Horticulture
35 Thursdays: 9.00am-12.00pm

Course fee: £420
This one year modular course is suitable for the keen amateur or professional. It is an excellent practical introduction to fundamental horticultural topics, including soil testing, plant propagation, pruning and identification of common plants. The course is assessed continuously through practical activities.
RHS Level 3 Certificate in Practical Horticulture
35 Thursdays: 1.00pm-4.00pm

Course fee: £420
This one year modular course is suitable for the keen amateur or professional. It covers similar topics to Level 2, but at a higher level. You will learn about soil testing, plant propagation, pruning, plant husbandry and identification of common plants. The course is assessed continuously through practical activities.
BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Garden Design
35 Mondays: 9.00am-4.00pm

This level 3 modular course has been developed for those wishing to further their garden design education but who do not yet want to take the fully professional route (the Foundation Degree in Garden Design).
It is suitable for a range of potential students: horticulture/garden enthusiasts wanting design skills; practicing gardeners wanting more skill/confidence with their design, or planting knowledge; those who want to use it as the first stage on the way to the Foundation Degree.
The emphasis is on plantsmanship and the technical skills that are required by garden designers. The course contains less drawing work than the City and Guilds course but is also assessed by continuous assessment.
