Christopher Skinner - Master of Horticulture
Born and educated in Woking, Surrey, Chris' interest in horticulture started at the early age of eight or nine when helping to grow vegetables for the table.
His first holiday job was in a local nursery then, after secondary school, he went on to study for the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Amenity Horticulture at Writtle College, and has worked in gardening ever since.
A new full-time post in 2007, after working for 15 years as a garden supervisor and five years as a Head Gardener at the same private estate, resulted in Chris studying for his Master's. Although essentially a home study course, he valued the support through his local college at Hadlow, where he met with other Master's candidates through the three years of study.
Now he is exploring the employment opportunities that his newly-gained award may bring.
