Gaining the RHS level 2 Certificate in Horticulture, as well as the level 3 Advanced Certificate and Diploma, could be the start of a whole new career for consultant haematologist Matthew.
He's hoping for work experience in the industry before he finally decides whether to swap working with patients with leukaemia at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London for a career in horticulture. Dream jobs include setting up his own perennial nursery or working as a gardener in a stately home.
For now his garden and allotment keep him busy and he's in demand from friends to plan their borders.
