Keeping your group insured
All Britain in Bloom groups and It's Your Neighbourhood groups are eligible for insurance through the RHS. Insurance cover is provided by NFU Mutual via our broker, Aon.
There are two types of cover available:
Employers’ & Public Liability
- Employers’ & Public Liability (Indemnity limit £5m): £90
- Employers’ & Public Liability (Indemnity limit £10m): £110
(Both policies have a £10m indemnity limit for Employers’ Liability)
Sheds, Equipment, Cups & Trophies
- Sheds, Equipment, Cups and Trophies (Indemnity limit £5k): £103
- Sheds, Equipment, Cups and Trophies (Indemnity limit £10k): £152
- Sheds, Equipment, Cups and Trophies (Indemnity limit £20K): £199
All group insurance policies will, as a one-off, run for 17 months from 1 September 2011 to 31 January 2013. This 17-month policy will only be in place this once, and the next insurance period will run from 1 February 2013 to 31 January 2014. It was necessary for the RHS to make this change in order to bring these subscriptions in line with our financial year. All insurance policies will run for the 17-month period, and, upon renewing, you will receive a proof of insurance certificate that verifies this. There are no pro-rata premiums, cover can be purchased at any time throughout but the full premium will be incurred.
For queries on the application process, please contact the Department of Community Horticulture on 020 7821 3069. For specific queries about the cover (i.e. what is covered), please contact Aon directly on 01179 485002.
