RHS Flower Shows
The tradition of staging plant and flower shows has been at the heart of the RHS since our first show in 1833. Today, our shows are internationally recognised as inspiring demonstrations of horticultural excellence, and are enjoyed by millions in the UK and around the world.

Gifted to the RHS in 1903, the RHS flagship property, Wisley is one of the finest gardens in the world. For more than 100 years it has demonstrated excellence in horticulture, plant collections and outstanding large scale gardening displays.
There are over 200 acres to explore, encompassing countless styles including majestic borders and an iconic Rock Garden with an extraordinary range of alpine plants. The Bowes Lyon Rose Garden features over 4,000 roses and there is also a Jubilee arboretum, extensive fruit and vegetable fields and gardens, a vineyard and a magnificent lakeside Tropical Glasshouse, which demonstrates tropical plants from three climatic zones.

Located on the outskirts of Harrogate, Harlow Carr captures the essence of Yorkshire within a beautiful garden setting. The garden design replicates the natural spirit of the region, with features evoking the surrounding landscapes, including water features, dry stone walling, wooded areas and also some ornamental aspects redolent of Harrogate itself.
It has something to offer for each season, with superb main borders, scented gardens and a wildflower meadow which are at their peak in the summer months, an Alpine House which is particularly attractive during the spring, as well as more than ¼ million bulbs including snowdrops, daffodils, iris, crocus and grape hyacinths. Autumn sees wonderful colours thanks to the extensive woodland and arboretum, whilst in winter, visitors can enjoy winter flowering trees including a beautiful Persian ironwood, magnolia and autumn cherry trees, as well as fragrant shrubs and a stunning mix of colourful stems. Winter is also a great time to bird spot from the bird hide.

Hyde Hall is a 360-acre estate surrounded by Essex farmland, gifted to the RHS by the Robinson family in 1993, and encompasses everything from wood¬land wilderness to drifts of naturalistic planting and formal gardens.
With wide open skies and far reaching views, Hyde Hall is an ideal spot to enjoy the some of the finest countryside in Essex. Located just outside Chelmsford, it consists of an eight acre, intensely cultivated hilltop area, with numerous features, including a colour themed herbaceous border, two ponds, a rose garden, farmhouse garden and woodland garden. A highlight is the Dry Garden, which showcases a vast range of drought tolerant plans that will thrive in an area of very low rainfall, as Hyde Hall is actually situated in one of the driest parts of the UK.

Nestled in the Torridge Valley in North Devon, just south of the North Devon coast and west of Exmoor National Park, Rosemoor is spread across 65 acres, with a varied character reflecting both the history of the site itself and the characteristic style of many West Country gardens.
Within a dramatic backdrop of steep wooded valley sides, it consists of sculptured gardens intercepted by cool restful areas of parkland, meadows and trees. Rose gardens, herb and cottage gardens, hot and spiral gardens can all be found within the formal areas, whilst Lady Anne’s Garden comprises an Exotic Garden, Cherry Garden, Stone Garden, Croquet Lawn and Mediterranean Garden as well as a Woodland Garden and walk.

Activities for groups
Make the most of your visit to an RHS Garden by creating a day out tailored specially for your group. In addition to enjoying all that the gardens have to offer, RHS Gardens also offer a wide range of learning opportunities, courses and talks that could add an extra level of interest to your visit. These include the following:
Private tours: Enjoy a special guided tour of any of the RHS Gardens in the company of one of the expert members of staff.
Specialist talks: Depending on your area of interest, talks can be arranged at all the gardens. Perhaps you might be tempted by 'Roses' or 'Dry Gardening' at RHS Garden Hyde Hall; 'Wildflowers' or 'Roses' at RHS Garden Rosemoor. At RHS Garden Wisley, talks can be arranged on subjects such as 'Glasshouse Growing' or 'Fruit Growing' whilst RHS Garden Harlow Carr has organised sessions on ‘British Garden Design’.
Courses and Adult Learning: If you want to take the experience, one stage further then the gardens can also arrange special courses in subjects such as photography or creative arts with a horticultural theme, as well as many horticultural activities from propagation and container-gardening to pruning and 'grow your own'.
Please note that all these opportunities need to be set up well in advance of your visit and are subject to availability of staff at the gardens.
