Townhill Wood Tree Planting Day

Date
25 November 2012
Location
Townhill Wood
Wilson Street
Townhill Town
Fife
Scotland KY12 0EY
Summary
As part of their Jubilee Wood project, the Woodland Trust have kindly granted Townhill Community Council 105 tree saplings, their wildlife pack which will include blackthorn, hawthorn, hazel, silver birch, rowan, common oak and a Royal oak sapling. This will give us the chance to help replenish our lovely Townhill Wood after losing so many mature trees in the January storms earlier this year. Volunteers will work with the Community Council and our Countryside Ranger Lyn Strachan, creating a small copse to celebrate the Jubilee at the Wilson Street entrance to Townhill Wood and planting the rest of the saplings along a nature trail in the wood. We will also have a cook out and enjoy a fun community day together in the wood. Everyone is welcome to join us!
