Getting started with fruit

RHS Grow Your Own advice - blackcurrants

A good starting point when planning a fruit garden is to compile a list of what you do and don't want to grow yourself, and more importantly the quantity of these. For instance, many people love dessert grapes, but to grow them yourself is quite time consuming and requires a greenhouse. On the other hand, you can enjoy the taste of fresh strawberries from just one or two plants grown in a container on a balcony.

Our RHS experts have put together a number of advice profiles to help you get started in the fruit garden.
