Kitchen garden
I'm Gavin Roberts, and I am the head kitchen gardener at Doddington Hall in Lincolnshire. Our beautiful two-acre walled kitchen garden was restored in 2007. It supplies fresh seasonal produce to our farm shop and cafe.
The kitchen garden is also home to florist, Rachel Petheram’s, cutting garden and we host many school children over the year, numerous visitors as well as our Cooking in the Kitchen Garden cooking demos. It’s a busy vibrant place.
The warmth of May has been a little too warm at times, giving us problems with watering as we have to avoid scorching the plants in the heat and bright light. Read more. . .
