New role for Landscape Man

20 January 2011

Horticulturist Matthew Wilson, former curator of RHS gardens at Hyde Hall and Harlow Carr and Channel 4's Landscape Man, is set to join London’s oldest plant nursery, Clifton Nurseries.

Matthew, who also appears on Gardeners' Question Time, becomes managing director on 7 February 2011. He replaces current MD Tad Paluchowski, who has been Clifton Nurseries since 2003 and will be leaving on 28 February. Tad will remain in an advisory role during February while Matthew takes up his responsibilities.

Author Matthew has most recently been part-time Associate Director at The Landscape Agency (TLA), working on high end domestic and commercial landscape design along with a number of projects for the National Trust and English Heritage. Matthew will continue to advise TLA as an Associate, as Clifton Nurseries will be working closely with TLA on a range of future projects. He will also work closely with TLA in the run up to the 2011 RHS Chelsea Flower Show where they are working on a show garden sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada.

Based in Little Venice, West London, Clifton Nurseries is celebrating its 160th anniversary this year. Set on a delightful ‘secret garden’ site it combines a retail garden centre, floristry, shop and cafe with a respected garden design, landscape construction and maintenance business, employing more than 50 staff.
