Girl with pot and spade

Great half-term days out - 25 May - 2 June 2013

This May half-term, get out of the house and get busy with our great holiday activities. Little ones can drop in to craft activities, set off on the I-Spy trail, or explore some of the garden's newest areas, including a fantastic new play tower.

Things to see and do:

Children’s learn to garden activities - 28 - 30 May

Children on lawnEncourage your little ones to be budding gardeners! There’s a great range of hands-on activities to try - make paper pots, sow a seed or plant a herb cutting, and make a bird cake to take home and hang in the garden. Or get creative and paint a picture on a pebble.
Normal garden admission, plus additional cash payment of £2 per child. Booking not required. 10am - 3pm

New play tower to explore

Little ones will love exploring our new 'Bewilderwood' play tower! The impressive 7m tower features a slide, a lookout point and even a covered crow’s nest at the very top. There's plenty more fun to be had on the nearby tangle net climber and forest step walk.

I-spy trail

I-spyFollow the seasonal I-spy trail around the garden. How many items on the list can you spot as you explore?

Bird watching and woodland walks

Visit our new bird hide, nestled on the banks of the reservoir. It’s a great place to see Hyde Hall's many kinds of water fowl. Afterwards, continue your journey on the Woodland Walk which takes you on a circular tour of the estate.

Guruve sculpture exhibition - 1 May - 1 September
