The work of Tom Stuart-Smith, three-times winner of Best in Show at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and one of the country's most influential landscape architects, is being celebrated at one of the first exhibitions of the work of a living garden designer.

The Garden Museum is using photographs and drawings alongside six specially-commissioned films looking at gardens Tom has designed through the seasons to explore his creative processes and the musical and artistic influences that lie behind his work.

As well as the exhibition, there is a programme of garden visits to see some of his best-known creations, including Broughton Grange in Oxfordshire and his own private garden.

Tom is known for his elegant and sophisticated designs and for his consummate plantsmanship. His recent projects include the densely-planted borders surrounding The Glasshouse at RHS Garden Wisley, the reinterpretation of the 19th-century Italian Gardens at Trentham in Staffordshire and a garden at Windsor Castle to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee.

Find out more on on 'Planting Paradise: The Gardens of Tom Stuart-Smith' which opens on 16 May and runs until 29 August.
