Free admission to National Botanic Garden of Wales
9 December 2010
The National Botanic Garden of Wales - an RHS recommended garden - is admitting people for free throughout January 2011 in a repeat of its popular 10th anniversary year promotion.
A series of events has been arranged throughout the month to encourage more people to visit the garden - which The Times newspaper has branded the 'Number 1 Winter Wonderland in the UK'.
Event highlights for January include: a 'Local Producer' Food Fair; Wood Craft Weekend; and Wine Weekend - all taking place in the stunning surrounds of Lord Foster's Great Glasshouse.
Toy-makers, wood-turners and lovespoon-carvers will be taking over the Glasshouse on the penultimate weekend (Sat & Sun, Jan 22-23); there will be a festival of local food and drink on the last weekend of January (Sat & Sun, Jan 29-30); and a Wine Weekend on January 15-16.
Head of Marketing and Communications David Hardy said: "We're hoping to see lots of visitors and also make some new friends, too."
