I-Spy series' new book on RHS Garden Wisley
3 June 2011
For the first time, the Royal Horticultural Society has teamed up with Michelin Travel Publications to launch a new book which gives budding gardeners a closer look at what goes on in gardens, and follows in the footsteps of a 1950s icon.
Launched earlier this year, I-Spy RHS Garden Wisley offers children a fun way to explore the world-famous garden, with over 150 things to spot from cacti to caterpillars, from moss to mowers.
First published in the 1950s, the I-Spy books were a children’s favourite for decades. Children were challenged to find everything pictured in the book, before sending the completed book to Big Chief I-Spy and gaining a feather and an award of merit. Reissued by Michelin in 2009, and faithful to the original format, the books cover a range of subjects and locations, across the country.
Rae Spencer-Jones, RHS Publisher, says, 'The RHS partnership with the I-Spy books lets us show children a whole different world when they visit our garden at Wisley. We want them to come away excited by the unexpected things they can find and ready to explore their own gardens.'
The books are on sale at RHS Garden Wisley and cost £2.50.
