Spring bulbs at Ragley Hall Ragley Hall Open Day: 17 April, 11am-3pm

Enjoy these 27 acre gardens as they burst into colourful spring displays. Explore new areas including a Crevice Garden for alpines, a Prairie Garden and a delightful contemporary Rose Garden; plus see how Ragley works to optimise habitats and food resources for insects, birds and small mammals.

'We’re delighted to be holding this special National Gardening Week Open Day, and to be showcasing our gardens,' says Head Gardener Ross Barbour.

'We aim to have something of interest 365 days of the year for the public to enjoy. April is the perfect month to get stuck into the garden and get some real work under way. Things are bursting into life and colour is blooming all around.'

Highlights include:

  • Hear special guest Val Bourne - award-winning garden writer, photographer and lecturer - speaking about the rose garden in the 21st-century.
  • Helen Picton, manager and co-owner of Old Court Nurseries and an expert in Michaelmas daisies, will be talking about late summer colour.
  • Ask Ragley's Head Gardener, Ross Barbour, and his team, your gardening questions. Local garden experts Robin Pearce, Mary Thorp and John Hill, will also be on hand with help and advice.
  • Watch demonstrations designed to help you get the most from your own garden
  • Buy quality plants from local nurseries including Cotswold Garden Flowers, Golls Nurseries, Old Court Nurseries, Worlds End Nurseries, Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants and Hoo House Nurseries
  • Don't forget to enter the free prize draw
