The Rosemoor Reading Room welcomes all garden visitors, and aims to inform and inspire everyone with an interest in gardening. A small, friendly information centre, the Reading Room has all the latest books on practical gardening, garden design, botanical art, garden history, wildlife gardening, plant hunting, and much more. It also keeps a good selection of the major gardening magazines. It holds about 1,000 volumes and 40 current gardening magazines for reference.
The Reading Room is an important horticultural collection within its region, used by horticultural students, keen or leisure gardeners, and by others with a wider interest in the natural world - photographers, artists or flower arrangers.
The Reading Room provides comfortable facilities for browsing the stock for ideas, relaxing with the latest gardening magazines, or as a first stop for more detailed research. Visitors also use the collections to help them find the answer to an enquiry, on topics such as plant details, pruning and propagation information, garden history and design. If an enquiry is more complex and cannot be answered at the Rosemoor Reading Room, it is passed to Wisley Library Enquiry Service.
