Our family learning programme of events and activities offers fun for visitors of all ages. There is always something new, inspiring and fun to help you make the most of your visit to Wisley.

A family day out to Wisley is excellent value and should you take out RHS membership, most events are free for members for the entire year. All year round, don’t forget to pick up a family trail at the Garden Entrance. Each trail gives children things to spot, ideas of great places to explore and fun things to do in the garden.

Would-be jungle explorers can venture into the Tropical Zone of the Glasshouse, or why not collect different pinecones in the Arboretum and Pinetum? Who in your group can find the biggest pinecone?

Eat out: There are two picnic areas, one in the Pinetum and one near the Fruit Mount.

Eat in: The Conservatory Café overlooking Seven Acres offers a make-your-own lunchbox selection and a large terrace for sitting outside.

The Conservatory Dining Room offers informal table service and a menu for younger diners.

The Glasshouse Café offers informal bench seating as well as arm chairs and coffee tables, plus the lunchbox selection, an enclosed area for nursing mothers and colouring-in activity sheets and crayons for children.

The Orchard Café is open during the summer months only and serves a selection of drinks, ice creams and snacks. High chairs and customer toilets are located in all of the cafes.

Keep the kids amused during your trip to Wisley with the new book I-spy at RHS Garden Wisley. Inside there are pictures of all sorts of things for children to spot, with points scored for each one.

Child-friendly facilities

Car parking is free with a designated parking near the front of car park 1 for visitors with very young children..

There are baby changing facilities located near the garden entrance and within the garden at the Conservatory Café, Glasshouse and at the top of the Model Gardens.

An enclosed area for nursing mothers can be found in the Glasshouse Café.
