The Clore Learning Centre

Cleve West with schoolchildren. Image: TroikaThe Clore Learning Centre, supported by the Clore Duffield Foundation, offers hands-on learning facilities for gardeners of all ages and abilities.

It consists of the practical Growing Lab, a flexible learning space and an exhibition area.

In the Growing Lab hands-on learning will be to the fore and children and adults will be able to experience sowing, planting and propagating along with all the other essential indoor gardening techniques.

The adjoining flexible learning space has facilities to offer everyone the opportunity to explore plant science through talks and lectures, together with cooking for a healthy diet.

Art projects are encouraged throughout the Clore Learning Centre and older children will be able to learn about the architecture of the structure. Students can also watch, first hand, professional gardeners at work in the propagation houses at the back of the centre - in other words, they can see that gardening can be a valid career, not just a pastime.
