King and Queen by Henry Moore

King and Queen by Henry MooreCast in 1952-53, 'King and Queen' by Henry Moore, is now on display outside the Laboratory overlooking the Canal. The sculpture will be in the garden until the end of September 2014.

The Wisley LaboratoryAn exhibition in The Glasshouse exploring the innovative and acclaimed garden at Wisley, formerly known as Oakwood, before it was gifted to the RHS in 1903.

Orchid display - 5 April – 4 May

Moth orchidsSee our annual orchid display by the Wisley Glasshouse team, from the popular Phalaenopsis (or moth orchid) to lesser-known species from the Wisley orchid collection. Glasshouse times: 10am to 5.15pm, last entry 5pm.

Taste of Wisley Rhubarb Festival - Until 31 May

Rhubarb foolWe’re celebrating the vegetable that thinks it’s a fruit with displays, new sweet and savoury dishes, and homemade rhubarb jam. Book brunch in the Restaurant during the two-month festival and receive delicious recipes to take home.

Eating Alfresco – Garden Grill open from 18 April

Skewers on the barbecueGrab one of the sunny new tables beside the Food Hall, or head to our Garden Grill, where the cooking is alfresco style. We’ll be serving juicy burgers, lamb, chicken and vegetable dishes hot from the grill every weekend from 18 April and daily from 25 July (weather permitting).

Rhubarb festival lunches - 10 and 11 May

Duck with rhubarbRestaurant guests can enjoy our very special rhubarb-themed three-course menu before Wisley gardeners conduct a tasty tour of the rhubarb collection. You can book two sittings on either date: arrive for lunch at 11.30am followed by a tour at 1.30pm; or arrive for lunch at 1.45pm followed by a tour at 3.45pm.

RHS Members’ evening and plant auction - 17 July

Visitors in the Bowes-Lyon Rose Garden Wisley in the evening is a wonderfully romantic setting, so take the opportunity to enjoy a long summer evening, drinking in the delicious scents of the evening air. While you’re here, why not pop into our plant auction to bid for some top quality plants? Tickets are free but must be pre-booked at least 3 days in advance. This month, look for the hat-shaped, dainty yellow flowers of Erythronium ‘Pagoda’ AGM in the Rock Bank wood, as well as on Battleston Hill.
