Easter family activities: Colours of the rainbow

This Easter, we're celebrating the bright new season with a fun programme of rainbow-themed activities. Blow colourful bubbles, create a rainbow peg figure, follow the Rainbow Activity Trail and much more!

What's on, when:

Daily - Rainbow Activity Trail

Find all the colours of the rainbow and learn fascinating facts about each colour, and about how rainbows work.

2 and 3 April: Craft - Rainbow peg figures

Add a hat and cape to make your own colourful peg figure.
10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30-4.30pm

4 and 5 April: Sow and Grow

Girl with soil on handsVisit the Clore Learning Centre to grow your own Aquilegia ‘Sweet Rainbows’. Take your pot home and watch them grow into a rainbow of flowers!
10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30-4.30pm 

6 and 7 April: Birds of prey weekend

Little owlVisit Seven Acres for birds of prey demonstrations - see and photograph these beautiful birds, and be amazed as they are put through their paces! 
11am and 2pm 

8 and 9 April: Giant rainbow sculpture workshop

Help us to make a giant rainbow sculpture with willow and papier mache, to be displayed in the garden during Easter.
10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30-4.30pm

9 April: Bubble making

Come and use different shapes to make amazing bubbles. Can you find the rainbows in the bubbles as they float away?
11am-3pm

11 and 12 April: Sow and grow

Make a 'seed bomb' from a rainbow of mixed annual plants.
10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30-4.30pm

 

12 April: Storytelling

Settle in for rainbow-themed stories with Jane Lambourne. 
11am, 12pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm

13 and 14 April: Petal rainbow hats

Fun craft workshops.
10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-4.30pm
