A visit to the gardens at Palatine Special School is an inspirational and enthralling experience. Since 1998 the pupils, staff and volunteers have worked dynamically on creating a series of themed gardens.
Jennie Rollings and William Bauress, the teachers in charge of the garden's creation, have realised that for many children gardening can be the means by which their whole attitude to school changes and hence allows them to make more progress in all areas of school life.
Indeed, the atmosphere at Palatine is unique and scintillating and the energy and enthusiasm of all involved is palpable. |
