Harlow Carr Garden Library, Harrogate, Yorkshire

Harlow Carr Garden Library welcomes all garden visitors, and aims to inform and inspire everyone with an interest in gardening. A small, friendly information centre, the Library has all the latest books on practical gardening, garden design, botanical art, garden history, wildlife gardening, plant hunting, and much more. It also keeps a good selection of the major gardening magazines.

The Library lends books and videos to RHS Members living in the local area.

The Garden Library is an important horticultural collection within its region, used by horticultural students, keen or leisure gardeners, and by others with a wider interest in the natural world - photographers, artists or flower arrangers.

The Library provides comfortable facilities for browsing the stock for ideas, relaxing with the latest gardening magazines, or as a first stop for more detailed research. Visitors also use the collection to help them find the answer to an enquiry, on topics such as plant details, pruning and propagation information, garden history and design. If a Library enquiry is more complex and cannot be answered at Harlow Carr Garden Library, it is passed to Wisley Library Enquiry Service.

Harlow Carr Garden Library is operated by teams of library volunteers, and managed by Library staff based at Wisley.
