Fuchsia magellanica Angel’s Teardrop. Image: Hannah Rees A hardy fuchsia found on the campus of the Duchy College in Cornwall has been officially named Fuchsia magellanica ‘Angel’s Teardrop’. This prolific-flowering selection was singled out because of its deep cerise blooms and tight, bushy habit. Stock is now being grown at Duchy Nursery and plants are available in packs of three for £9.99 plus post and packaging. To order, tel: 01736 336975. Dierama Cosmos. Image: Ray Brown Found growing in a batch of wild seed collected from the Drakensberg mountains in South Africa comes Dierama ‘Cosmos’ with dark burgundy, almost black flowers. Similar in form to D. reynoldsii , the attractive trumpet-like pendulous flowers are further enhanced by white papery bracts. Gaura lindheimeri Rosyjane. Image: Hardys Cottage Garden Plants At the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this month, two new plants discovered on the nursery of Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants in Hampshire will have their public debut. Campanula ‘Jenny’ has large cup-shaped white flowers with a distinct blue central eye, while Gaura lindheimeri ‘Rosyjane’ (pictured) has two-tone pink and white flowers.
