Conservation

Conservation and horticulture have a unique relationship, often working together but sometimes apparently in conflict. The RHS is actively involved in a range of conservation activities.

A number of practical guides, Conservation and Environment Leaflets, are published on areas where gardening has an impact on conservation concerns.

Biodiversity of species in gardens is a developing area of interest within the Society.
Biodiversity and Gardens, an article in the Science Departments report in 2004, is available as an Adobe Acrobat pdf (34KB)
