Thanksgiving service for Bonham Bazeley

A Thanksgiving service for the life of Bonham Bazeley who died on 22 November 2009 aged 87, will take place at 3pm, on Saturday 27 March 2010 at St Nicholas Church in Standish.
For many years, Bonham was Managing Director of Highfield Nurseries in Gloucester, a business specialising in hardy plants and fruit trees originally set up by his father. During the war he served with the Royal Navy working on motor torpedo boats for which he received a Distinguished Service Cross.
He was a Fellow of the Institute of Horticulture and at one time a member of the BBC’s Central Agricultural Advisory Committee.
The RHS made Bonham an Honorary Fellow for his work on the Ridley Review Committee in 1984-1985 and in 1990 he published the successful book, Growing Tree Fruits.
He is survived by his family, and Phyllis, his wife of 65 years.
