Children's TV heroes pick winning photos
22 August 2012
Award-winning children's TV duo, Dick and Dom, will be joining the RHS panel to judge the 2012 RHS Young Photographer of the Year Competition, which sees children and young adults aged under 18 years submit their best gardening shots.
With the help of TV presenters and gardening enthusiasts, Dick and Dom, the RHS are looking for the most exciting and creative garden photography. The RHS Young Photographer of the Year Competition is divided into two categories, under 11s and 11-18 year-olds, and is part of the larger RHS Photographic Competition for all ages.
Dom says; 'This is a great opportunity for kids to get outside and explore nature, while doing something creative. Winning the title of RHS Young Photographer could be a stepping stone for talented young adults, as well as an introduction to a new hobby for younger kids. We’re expecting to see some fantastic entries from wildlife pictures to plant and gardening shots.'
The winner will be crowned RHS Young Photographer of the Year and claim top prize of a fantastic digital camera. Second and third runners-up will receive photographic vouchers.
The competition organiser, James Arnold says, 'This year we’ve seen more entries for the RHS Young Photographer of the Year Competition than ever before.'
