RHS and RBG Edinburgh stage woody plants talks

The RHS has teamed up with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh to stage a morning of talks on 9 October 2013 focusing on woody plants.

Join members of the RHS Woody Plant Committee for talks on clematis from renowned grower Raymond Evison, RHS plant trials from Christopher Sanders and the fascinating world of the great plant hunter EH Wilson from Mark Flanagan, Keeper of the Gardens - The Crown Estate.

The morning’s timetable will be introduced by George Anderson, well-known from the Beechgrove Garden, who also sits on the Council of the RHS.

10am Tea & coffee
10.30am Introduction by George Anderson MBE (Beechgrove Garden and RHS Council Member)
10.40am ‘Clematis - past, present & future’ – Raymond Evison OBE VMH (Chairman of Guernsey Clematis and Chair of the RHS Woody Plant Committee)
11.20am ‘The RHS Trials and Assessments of Woody Plants’ - Chris Sanders (RHS Trials Assessment Forum member & Vice Chair, RHS Woody Plant Committee)
12 noon ‘In farthest Asia – the world of E H Wilson’ - Mark Flanagan (Keeper of the Gardens, The Crown Estate & Vice Chair, RHS Woody Plant Committee)
12.40pm  Q&A session
