Time to spruce up your opinion of conifers?

Pines, spruces and junipers are being celebrated in October throughout a special week devoted to the diverse but much-maligned conifer.
During National Conifer Week (1-9 October), garden retailers will be promoting this useful group of plants, under the banner ‘Love Me, Love My Conifer’.
They will be highlighting the variety of 'personalities' of conifers and showing, through demonstrations and displays, that there is a conifer for every situation in the garden.
According to the Horticultural Trades Association, 27% of homeowners have a conifer in their garden but it wants to increase this figure by raising awareness of how versatile and different conifers can be.
