We learn how Paphiopedilum hirsutissimum var. esquirolei in China is pollinated by hoverflies, with photographs showing how this takes place. The little-known orchid Thaia saprophytica, previously known from Thailand, is discovered in Laos and found not to be a saprophyte after all. Rhinerrhiza divitiflora, an Australian epiphyte that flowers on one day a year is captured in bloom and the Wisley cultivation series describes mounting orchids.
