You’ll be dazzled by the amazing floral displays when you visit Floriade, a show which only comes to the Netherlands once every 10 years. You will also visit the exciting city of Amsterdam and get the chance to take a scenic canal cruise.
Day 1 UK/Arnhem
From your local departure point you will take an afternoon crossing to Calais. From here you continue to the Arnhem/Eindhoven area where you will stay for three nights.
Day 2 Floriade
Today you will transfer to Venlo where you will enjoy a full day exploring Floriade, a spectacular exhibition of flowers and gardening that is held in the Netherlands just once every 10 years. Prepare to be dazzled by the displays from hundreds of exhibitors who have descended upon Greenport Venlo. Five themed zones spread over 66 hectares, will showcase some of the world’s most stunning flowers, plants and trees, as well as a huge variety of fruit and vegetables. Floriade 2012 also offers a varied cultural experience with a programme of dance, music, theatre, literature and visual art from all over the globe, making it an event that must not be missed. Day 3 Amsterdam & Amstelveen
Today you will travel northwards to Amsterdam, a charming city which is criss-crossed with a picturesque network of canals. You will find attractions at every turn here, including historic monuments and world-renowned museums. There are also fantastic shopping opportunities and the chance to take a scenic canal cruise. In the afternoon, you will take a tour of a traditional cheese and clog factory in the city of Amstelveen. Meals: B
Day 4 Arnhem/UK
You return to Calais today for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK. You will return to your original point of departure this evening. Meals: B
Your hotel
You will stay in 3 or 4-star hotels which have been specially chosen for their location in the Arnhem/Eindhoven areas. Facilities include a bar and restaurant. All guest rooms are comfortably furnished and have private bathroom.
Guests staying at the Papendal Hotel can upgrade to 4-star (silver) rooms on selected dates. Silver rooms are spacious and feature flatscreen TV, hairdryer and bathrooms with walk-in shower. Please speak to a Holiday Advisor for more details.
