Excursion 1- RHS Garden Rosemoor
After a night in Devon and before checking into our Cornish hotel we visit RHS Garden Rosemoor, the Society’s most south-westerly garden, set against the steeply wooded slopes of the idyllic Torridge Valley and extending over 65 acres. There is plenty to experience, whatever the season, with woodland walks, formal and informal gardens, a stunning lake and arboretum.
Excursion 2 - Time at leisure & the Lost Gardens of Heligan
After a morning at leisure, we visit the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan, close to Mevagissey. Heligan was the secluded seat of the Tremayne family for four centuries before the estate fell into disrepair. The gardens – almost lost forever – have now been restored to their former glory.
Excursion 3 - Trebah Garden & Glendurgan Garden
Rated as one of the finest gardens in the world, Trebah Garden is a sublime, sub-tropical ravine garden that was first created as a pleasure garden in the 1830s by Charles Fox, a wealthy Quaker. Leading down to a secluded beach on the Helford River, there are rare and exotic plants, trees and shrubs and a gorgeous canopy of rhododendrons and magnolias.
Like Trebah Garden, the National Trust owned Glendurgan Garden is a subtropical garden established by the Fox family close to the Helston River. Spread across three narrow coastal valleys, native wild flowers complement exotic plants.
Excursion 4 - Eden Project
En-route to our Devon hotel, we visit the world-renowned Eden Project. Built for the millennium in the Cornish countryside and often described as the Eighth Wonder of the World, Eden is a global garden home to over a million plants.

The Alverton Manor Hotel is situated in handsome Truro. The interior is a blend of modern comfort and period charm.
The first and final nights of our break are spent either at the Thistle Rougemont Hotel, a charming Victorian hotel in Exeter, or the Padbrook Park Hotel, a country club and hotel just outside of Exeter.
