In a busy world full of daily stresses and strains releasing pent-up emotion is essential.

A beautiful wooden box sits in a swathe of wild flowers enveloped by silver birch – a secluded and safe place where visitors can stop, reflect and perhaps get something off their chest. Wrapped around the box is a red clay strip that visitors can interact with, impressing on it a form of their own. The action of moulding the clay and leaving something tangible behind aims not only to be personally satisfying but it also contributes to a continually evolving piece of sculpture.

Expert commentary by Chris Young - Editor of The Garden

This is a simple creation with a wild flower meadow either side of a beautifully made wooden box. This box has a central strip of red clay into which you can indent your fingerprint and personalise the space. The box is really special with its clean lines, nice writing and encouraging words.
