I am a human being because I belong. I participate. I share.” (Leymah Gbowee)

It takes a shared response to meet the collective challenges that we face; we are truly in this together. This garden has been created to emphasise the need for communities, societies and nations to build mutually beneficial partnerships.

The concept of the garden is realised by using interlocking circles each filled with a single plant species. Where these circles interlock the species combine, thereby conveying an impact not only through the individual plant species but also through their larger contribution to the overall design. The design demonstrates that something far greater is achieved through contribution and participation and that this creates a better world not only for our own generation but also for those that follow.

Expert commentary by Phil Clayton - Features Editor of The Garden

This garden focuses on plants that suit a shady spot. Under the canopies of Betula albosinensis there are foxgloves including Digitalis ferruginea mixed with the bold foliage of Bergenia and the dainty flowers of Astrantia. This is all balanced with delicate grasses such as quaking grass Briza.
