The Copella Plant and Protect Garden highlights the continuous cycle of life and death that occurs in an apple orchard. This is reflected in a central mound that takes its inspiration from a fallen apple returning to the earth. From the heart of the apple rises a sculpture symbolising the natural regeneration that is present in orchards. A network of small rills leading to a pool represents the underlying life source. Areas to either side of the garden are planted with young apple trees, signifying the current need for the continued replanting of English apple orchards. Incorporated throughout the garden are plants that attract pollinating insects.

Expert commentary by Phil Clayton - Features Editor of The Garden

This garden demonstrates diaphanous planting of grasses, annuals and soft country flowers. My favourite partof the garden is a simple but effective combination of white foxgloves, white Agrostemma githago 'Ocean Pearl' and Ammi majus with its appealing dainty umbels.
