This garden helps to raise the profile of community-based food projects in London boroughs. It provides ideas for urban design and encourages community development through horticulture and urban agriculture.

An Urban Harvest has a sustainable theme reflected in the choice of hard landscaping materials, the planting scheme and its message encouraging people to grow their own and thereby reduce food transport into London. It shows how a small space can be creative, productive and inspiring. It can be used as an educational resource and is an attractive garden setting that encourages social interaction within a community while also providing a means of producing food.
