Catching the Moment
The garden portrays the diverse landscape against which the race is set, from urban to wild, from small towns to remote mountainsides, along with a café terrace from where you can take in the sight of the passing riders. A smart avenue lined with London Plane trees recedes to a rugged landscape suggesting a mountainous background.
Outside the café area, box borders enclose yellow-hued planting representing the jersey worn by the race leader. The water feature alludes to the RAF symbol worn by Bradley Wiggins during last year’s race.
