This garden celebrates the skills and talents of young people, and has been designed to promote excellence in vocational education and training.

It is being built by a team of people aged under 25, comprising past WorldSkills Competitors and Team UK hopefuls for when WorldSkills, the largest international vocational skills competition in the world, comes to London between 5-8 October 2011.

Their expertise ranges from landscape gardening and bricklaying to electrical installation and stonemasonry, all of which are on show in the garden and will be represented at WorldSkills.

Expert commentary by Chris Young & Phil Clayton, The Garden magazine

A garden of two halves – the lawn is a mixed chamomile lawn which you can walk across to the seating area. You then look across to the cool, formal pond. A combination of contemporary materials, with the seating and decking, and the red brick pond, with informal planting along the edges and the rugged lawn, works really well together. Charming planting mixes edible plants with ornamental.
