This garden has been designed to create an informal area in which to relax whilst surrounded by scented Mediterranean-style planting.
Mediterranean-style planting needs a light, free-draining soil, the opposite of the conditions present in this garden where the soil is moist and water retentive. To enable the planting to flourish, a raised area has been built using natural stone and free-draining soil.
An outdoor fireplace creates a focal point, surrounded by contemporary furniture. The boundaries are made from woven oak fencing, softened by silver birch planted in rusty steel containers.
