Paul Stone

Paul Stone is the Landscape Manager of the Eden Project and last year teamed up with the Homes and Communities Agency to produce a Chelsea show garden, The Key, which won a silver medal.

Royal Horticultural Society How long have you been going to Chelsea?

Paul Stone Since 1988 almost without a break, including 10 yrs and two golds working with Help the Aged - Princess Diana opened our second garden!

RHS What do you enjoy most about Chelsea?

PS People really enjoying the garden you've worked hard on.

RHS Best Chelsea experience?

PS Working with teams of homeless centre volunteers and creating the silver medal-winning The Key garden in 2009.

RHS What kind of garden do you have at home?

PS Natural oak woodland and wild flowers with some token areas of half hardy palms and perennials including Agapanthus and Echium - because you can in Cornwall!

RHS What's your favourite plant or planting combination?

PS Any double Camellia flower with dark green glossy leaves.

RHS What's your favourite style of garden design?

PS I admire most styles of garden design. My favorite is country cottage style - sorry!

RHS Your top tip for surviving Chelsea?

PS Go to bed early - this rarely seems to happen though!

RHS What's the main trend for 2010?

PS The amateur gardener and plants for the people!
