With a theme inspired by Laurent-Perrier’s tradition of handcrafting from nature, Giubbilei, who designed the RHS Gold medal-winning garden at Chelsea for Laurent-Perrier in 2009, presents two distinct areas and experiences within one garden. Working with Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and British sculptor Peter Randall-Page, the garden is about collaboration and contemplation.

The planting scheme creates a romantic atmosphere, with maroon, bronze and soft pink tones evocative of Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé champagne.

Expert commentary by Chris Young - Editor of The Garden

Formality in this garden is broken up in two main ways; the irregular stone along a central canal and the cortorted stems of Persian ironwood Parrotia persica that have had their canopies raised. The twisting irregular branching of the stems really bring an extra dimension to the garden.
